An association is defined as much by its limits as by its purpose. These are ours, and they are the ones written in the statutes.

- A non-profit international association, constituted under Spanish law.
- A voluntary membership body: it binds those who choose to join it, and only them.
- A framework of internal rules — its own competitions, its own licences, its own certification, its own disciplinary procedure — applied within the association.
- A partner to existing institutions, through cooperation agreements with federations, associations, clubs and organisers.
- The owner of the Open World Padel Ranking, published openly at owpr.org.

GPA is notGPA no es
- Not a federation, and not a substitute for one. It does not claim the role of any national or international federation.
- Not a sanctioning body for other people's competitions. It does not approve, homologate or authorise third-party tournaments.
- Not exclusive. Joining GPA requires nobody to leave anything, and takes nothing away from anyone.
- Not binding on non-members. Its rules and its discipline reach its own members and no further.
- Not against anyone. It proposes another way to develop padel; it does not seek to replace those already doing so.
- No es una federación ni la sustituye. No reclama el papel de ninguna federación nacional ni internacional.
- No es un organismo homologador de competiciones ajenas. No aprueba, homologa ni autoriza torneos de terceros.
- No es excluyente. Asociarse a GPA no obliga a nadie a dejar nada, ni le quita nada a nadie.

GPA regulates inwards and cooperates outwards. That is not modesty, it is the text of the statutes: the association's competitions are those of which GPA is the exclusive owner, and its disciplinary power operates within the scope of its private competences.

GPA is open to every actor in the sport. The point is not only who may join, but how much each one weighs once inside. The vote is distributed by sector, and the distribution is in the statutes.

Players weigh exactly what organisers weigh, and exactly what federations weigh. No sector can carry a decision on its own, and the preferential rights of founding members are time-limited by the statutes themselves.

The statutes also provide for a code of ethics and good governance binding on every body and member, a conflict-of-interest regime with a duty to abstain, an independent electoral committee, and dispute resolution that exhausts internal mechanisms and arbitration before going to the ordinary courts.

Joining GPAAsociarse a GPA
Membership is voluntary, and it binds only those who choose it. Applications are submitted to the association, assessed by the affiliations committee, and confirmed by the General Assembly.
